The Main Event

There's a lot to see and do.

It's a family day for all

Saturday is the main festival day. Starting at 8am, the street stalls are set up and ready to trade. Enjoy the amusement rides, face painting, reptile demonstrations, Fairy La La Land children's shows and much more.

There's vintage car displays and our very own Merriwa Physie Group will be joined for the Muswellbrook Physie Group to perform their dance routines in the street on Saturday morning.

The parade is on at 12 noon with the running of the sheep in their red socks heading up the parade.

By 3pm the main street is quiet again and the festivities move to the Showgrounds where you'll have the lolly scramble, whip cracking, food, live music and fireworks.

For a list of the day's events, see What's On in 2024.

Entries in the Grand Parade showcase our local community in all its aspects. Of course, the Grand Parade is headed up by the sheep in their red socks. Don't miss this one! It runs at around 12 noon on Saturday.

While the festival is in full swing in the main street, just a 3-minute walk away is the Showground where our Bush Sheep Dog Competition is held on the Saturday.
