Bush Brekky Show - Sunday Morning

For those staying in town, for the locals and for those who are not too far away, check out our Bush Brekky Show on Sunday morning. Breakfast is from 8am to 8.45am. Breakfast orders close at 8.45am SHARP. The show begins at 9am.

You will certainly be entertained with our bush poet Carol Heuchan and balladeer Dubby Doubleday.

Carol Heuchan

Carol Heuchan is the winner of the richest prize in poetry history, author of five top selling books and winner of nine Australian Bush Laureate awards. She also has five award winning CD's to her credit.

Carol appeared on TV (ABC Channel 2) in a six-part series called "Bush Slam" hosted by H.G. Nelson. The series has been shown several times on prime time national television.

Carol is also a member of the winning team in the World Poetry Debate held in the National Tally Room in Canberra and has lectured on creative writing and performance poetry at St. George University, Utah.

Carol is unarguably one of our premier bush poets. Don't miss a morning with Carol Heuchan!

Dubby (Graeme) Doubleday and Lyn Jerrett

Dubby (Graeme) Doubleday and Lyn Jerrett - accompanied by their lead guitarist Reece Blinman - will be performing some of Australia's best known bush ballads.

With 30 years.of shearing under his belt and a life on the land, it's little wonder people say you can smell the gum leaves on him when Graeme walks in the room.

Hailing from Tamworth, Dubby has played in local pubs around Quirrindi, Wallabadah and Wallis Creek. He's played in venues from the coast to remote outback townships and everywhere in between and he's looking forward to meeting you in Merriwa at the Festival of the Fleeces.

So if you enjoy the music of Slim Dusty, Stan Costa and Gordon Parsons, if you know who Jackie Howe is, if you love the old traditional bush songs about life on the land then you really don't want to miss this fantastic morning.

This year's Bush Brekky Show is a ticketed event with FREE entry. The tickets are available from Try Booking.

Tickets are required for numbers only. Remember, this is a FREE event (breakfast is optional and at your cost).

If you do not have a ticket, entry at the door may be available if numbers permit. Those with a ticket will be given entry first.
